Sabres Ink Myers

Today the Sabres announced the signing of Defenseman Tyler Myers to a new seven year contract. The deal is worth $38.5 Million over the length of the deal. Myers' new deal starts July 1st, 2012 when he will receive a $10,000,000 signing bonus.

The deal is front loaded much like the contracts of Christian Ehrhoff and Ville Leino. He will get $2 Million, $6 Million, $5 Million, $5 Million, $4 Million, $3.5 Million, $3 Million each successive year of the contract.

"I'm still young but I'm very happy with his organization and where it is going." Myers said after at this afternoon's press conference at First Niagara Center.

The Sabres also recapped all the new additions and construction going on at the newly re-named First Niagara Center. One addition that many will like is the addition of flat screen TV's and cup holders above urinals in all men's bathrooms at the arena.

When asked about how much he spent on the renovations Sabres Owner Terry Pegula stated "I don't care".
