Sabres Struggles

Before the season we all thought that the Sabres finally had a chance to go all the way, a legit team put together well and everything, we now know this was not the case at all.

While injuries undoubtedly hurt the Sabres with Miller, Ennis, Roy, Ehrhoff, Leino, Myers, Gerbe and others missing significant time but there is a lot more to it.

Most Sabres haters have said for years that they have no "heart" or a winning drive, while I believe this is not totally the case; nobody gets to the NHL with no "heart"; but there are problems with their effort I feel like they are just content with the situation.

Any other coach would have been fired already but Ruff has proven to be an above average NHL coach and is a perfect fit in Buffalo. I do not believe they should fire him just to make a statement that these losing ways are not accepted. There are other ways to accomplish that.

That said, if this continues the rest of the season you have to seriously think about firing the winningest coach in team history and in the longest tenured in the NHL today.

The Sabres look to get out of this funk tonight in St. Louis against Blues starting goalie Jaroslav Halak who is 10-0-3 in his last 13 starts. If those stats prove anything it does not look good for the Sabres to end the 11 game road skid tonight.
